Neither 6C nor 7C, Apple’s 4-inch iPhone could be named 5E

first_imgBuzz has it that Apple’s long-rumoured iPhone 5C successor – which is expected to be unveiled in March this year – may not be called the iPhone 6C or even the iPhone 7C , for that matter. A new report suggests that Apple’s long-awaited 4-inch iPhone will instead be called the iPhone 5E. Any guesses what ‘E’ could stand for? The report adds that the E-moniker stands for ‘enhanced.’ The iPhone 5E in a nutshell should be an enhanced variant of the iPhone 5S if the report is to be gone by.The iPhone 5E is said to include features like support for Apple Pay, NFC and VoLTE connectivity. The aforementioned features were lacking in the iPhone 5S. Moreover, the report goes on to tip some rare specifications set of Apple’s purported cheap 4-inch iPhone. Reportedly, it will come with a previous generation A8 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It is also said to sport an 8-megapixel camera on the rear.That’s not all. The report also tips that the alleged iPhone 5E will be priced at CNY 3,288 which roughly translates to Rs 33,400.Previously leaked images of the alleged iPhone 6C suggested a current generation iPod-like design for the phone. The iPhone 6C however was seen carrying antenna lines on the rear similar to how the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6S have. The phone in question has been long rumoured to be available in a variety of funky colours, just like the iPhone 5C.
